Discrimination is the practice of treating a person or group of people unequally from other people or groups of people on the basis of their nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, age in addition to other grounds. The underlying reasons and motivations for discrimination are almost always linked to deep-seated stereotypes and prejudices. We must identify, combat, and change these underlying causes and work to prevent discrimination in order to achieve equality for all. The Anti-discrimination Programme aims to improve the legislative framework and protection mechanisms in Serbia, to raise awareness of the general public about the position of the vulnerable groups, as well as to build capacities of civil society and the media related to anti-discrimination law and the right to equality. Praxis also represents parties in strategic cases of discrimination and provides support to vulnerable social groups.
